Jeongkang Seo: “Continental Unions must be built on three principles”

ETU Published 2026 Event Calendar, Including G- and E-Ranked European Opens

European Taekwondo Union (ETU) has published its updated 2026 competition calendar on the official ETU website, listing upcoming ETU events and related international Open tournaments granted as G and E events. ETU noted the calendar is a very important tool that will be updated during the season, and that dates, locations, and event details may change.

Mrs. Choi, widow of General Choi Hong Hi (Founder of Taekwon-Do), rejected a text circulated as “General Choi Hong-Hi’s Final Words” by a North Korea–based ITF group. In her testimony, she said the Founder had been unable to speak in his final days and that the narrative describing an alleged meeting shortly before his death did not match what happened, according to her account. World Taekwondo published its “2026 World Taekwondo Event Calendar” and reported, event by event, which Protector & Scoring System (PSS) will be used in Kyorugi competitions throughout the year. For this report, MASTKD only included events that already have an assigned PSS (DAEDO, KPNP, or WAYCHAMP).

The dataset included round-level totals, body- and head-kick registration, and coach protest results—making what the author described as the most comprehensive PSS scoring dataset reported to date.
