Oceania Taekwondo Union is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a major week of institutional, technical and competitive activity in Sydney, built around the 2026 Oceania Taekwondo Championships, official meetings, a coaches and referees workshop, the closing ceremony of the training camp and the continental gala dinner.

The program reflects the scope of OTU’s agenda in Oceania, where competition, education and institutional development will come together in one of the most important weeks on the continental calendar.
In comments to MASTKD, OTU President Maher Magableh emphasized the significance of the upcoming days.
“Next week is going to be a big week for OTU,” he said.
Magableh explained that March 26 will include OTU’s Council meeting in a face-to-face format, as well as the closing ceremony of the training camp. On March 27, the agenda will continue with registration activities, institutional gatherings, the Competition Rules & Updates Coaches and Referees Workshop led by Philippe Bouedo, and the 20th Anniversary Oceania Taekwondo Union Gala Dinner & Awards.
The workshop will address latest rules and interpretation changes, scoring system updates, refereeing guidelines and a Q&A session, adding technical depth to a week that extends far beyond competition alone.
Sydney will also welcome World Taekwondo President Dr. Choue Chung-won as part of the anniversary celebration, reinforcing the institutional value of an event that will lead directly into the 2026 Oceania Taekwondo Championships.
