Vietnam showed in Cang Long how Taekwondo can grow from the school base
The experience of Cang Long, in southern Vietnam, highlighted a grassroots development model that combined school, community and competition. In that locality of the Mekong Delta, Taekwondo emerged as one of the fastest-growing disciplines and is already bringing together dozens of students in daily training.

Vietnam offered in Cang Long a signal that goes beyond the local level: Taekwondo growth can also be built through schools and community work. In that locality of the Mekong Delta, the discipline was identified as one of the most steadily developing sports within the grassroots sports movement.
The clearest example was the Taekwondo club at Nhi Long Phu Secondary School, led by instructor Nguyen Thi Mong Trinh. According to information published by Vietnam.vn, more than 70 students train there every day, a figure that reflects continuity, organization and strong participation.
The project gained even more value because it did not remain limited to school practice. The same report stated that Mong Trinh promoted a young talent development structure and that the process also included competition, with the staging of the 2026 Provincial Age-Group Taekwondo Tournament.
Beyond its local scale, Cang Long showed something that is often overlooked in international Taekwondo: without grassroots work, sustained development and community integration, there is no durable sporting growth.
