Korea added four more world crowns, while Thailand celebrated two titles and Germany, Vietnam and Australia also reached the top of the podium at Chuncheon 2026.

Nine titles were awarded on Saturday. Korea won four, Thailand captured two, and Germany, Vietnam and Australia secured one each.

The host nation has now collected 17 of the 34 gold medals awarded during the first four days of competition. Eight world titles remain to be decided when the championships conclude on Sunday.

Korea continues its commanding campaign

Joo Yeong Lee delivered Korea’s first gold medal of the day in the Female Under 30 category after finishing ahead of Iran’s Mahsa Barzegari. Denmark’s Eva Sandersen and Thailand’s Ratchadawan Tapaenthong shared the bronze medals.

Untae Jang added another title in the Male Over 17 division, defeating Darius Venerable of the Philippines. Kai-Hsin Chang of Canada and Yuxin Wang of China completed the podium.

Korea also prevailed in the Male Team Cadet category. Jin Woo Yeo, Hyeon Jong Im and Yul Kang defeated the United States, while Chinese Taipei and Mexico secured bronze.

Min Hyeok Oh, Hangyeol Park and Tae Woo Kim completed Korea’s four-title performance with victory in the Male Team Under 30 event. Chinese Taipei claimed silver, with the Philippines and Malaysia sharing bronze.

Thailand celebrates a double victory

Thailand captured its first gold through Punnawit Hongyisipaet and Suchanan Injang in the Pair Junior event.

The Thai duo defeated Japan’s Zen Shiosaki and Hinako Sato in the final, while Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam earned bronze medals.

Thailand returned to the top of the podium in the Team Under 17 category through Pongsakorn Thongdee, Manan Tongbanbor, Punnathorn Sirisom, Natnaree Kumsa-Ad, Peerasak Sansanit and Rinrada Numthongthai.

The United States finished second, with the Philippines and Chinese Taipei completing the podium.

Germany Vietnam and Australia claim world titles

Germany’s Heekyung Reimann and Werner Unland won the Pair Over 60 title after overcoming Spain’s Jose Manuel Marin Fernandez and Beatriz Queiro Campos. Canada and Austria shared the bronze medals.

Vietnam celebrated gold in the Female Team Under 50 division through Thi Tuyet Mai Lien, Tuyet Van Chau and Thi Le Kim Nguyen.

The Vietnamese trio defeated Germany’s Stephanie Elbers, Francesca Dincao and Amelie Bruening, while Korea and Spain collected bronze.

Australia completed the list of day-four champions as Pat Petrovski, Karen Doyle and Carmela Hartnett secured the Female Team Over 60 crown. Austria earned silver, with Great Britain and the United States taking bronze.

The championship opened with a record 1,411 athletes before Korea captured four titles on day one.

The host nation then added five gold medals on day two and reached 13 titles after another four victories on day three.

The Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships conclude on September 20 at the Songam Sportstown Air Dome.
