The Pan American Taekwondo Union confirmed that the qualifying tournament will take place on April 7–8, 2027, in the Chilean capital.

Santiago de Chile será sede del Clasificatorio de Taekwondo a Lima 2027

The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) announced on November 4 that Santiago, Chile, will host the Taekwondo qualification tournament for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games. The two-day event will take place on April 7–8, 2027.

PATU notified its member federations in circular PTT-26/94, signed by President Juan Manuel López Delgado. The continental union said it shared the host city and dates to give federations time to plan their travel and logistics. Further details will follow closer to the tournament.

The circular did not specify the Kyorugi competition format, weight divisions, or quota allocation. In Poomsae, the key question is which events athletes will contest in Santiago and how the results will determine qualification. At the qualifier for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, scores from the men’s and women’s individual Recognized Poomsae performances were combined with the mixed-pair Freestyle score to determine the country standings. PATU has yet to say whether it will use a similar system for Lima 2027 or whether Santiago will also host a separate Para Taekwondo qualifier for the Parapan American Games during the same two days.

The Pan American Games will take place in Lima, Peru, from July 23 to August 8, 2027. According to the schedule released by Panam Sports, Taekwondo is set for July 24–27.
