Aiym Serikbayeva’s historic triumph at the Tashkent 2026 World Taekwondo Junior Championships marked the beginning of a new chapter—not only for the young athlete, but also for Kazakhstan.

Competing in the women’s −44 kg category, Serikbayeva captured the world title and became Kazakhstan’s first female Taekwondo world champion at either junior or senior level. She was also recognized as the tournament’s Best Female Athlete, confirming her status as one of the sport’s most promising young competitors.

KPNP has signed a personal sponsorship agreement with Serikbayeva, placing its support behind her transition from junior success to the demanding senior international circuit—with the dream of reaching the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games on the horizon.

A long-term investment in emerging talent

The agreement goes beyond a traditional sponsorship announcement. It reflects KPNP’s broader global strategy to identify and support athletes with the potential to become leading figures in the next Olympic cycle.

Serikbayeva will receive financial backing, competition equipment and access to KPNP’s Protector and Scoring System technology. This support is expected to strengthen her preparation as she moves toward the senior category and begins pursuing the international results and qualification opportunities required to contend for LA28.

Her path will involve new challenges, including adaptation to an Olympic weight division and competition against established senior athletes. However, her performance in Tashkent demonstrated that Kazakhstan has developed a prospect capable of competing at the highest level.

Kazakhstan’s growing international presence

The sponsorship also reinforces the relationship between KPNP and the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation.

Kazakhstan has steadily expanded its presence on the international stage, combining investment in young athletes, international competition and technological development. Serikbayeva’s world title represents one of the clearest signs of that progress and offers the country a new reference point for the next generation.

Through its collaboration with the national federation, KPNP aims to contribute not only to individual athlete development but also to the continued growth of Taekwondo across Kazakhstan.

Technology supporting an Olympic ambition

KPNP’s involvement connects athlete development with competition technology. In addition to financial and equipment support, the company’s PSS provides Serikbayeva with access to tools used in elite international competition.

For KPNP, the agreement forms part of a wider roadmap toward LA28: investing in athletes at an early stage, expanding partnerships with national federations and supporting competitors who may shape the future of Olympic Taekwondo.

For Serikbayeva, the destination remains distant and qualification is still to be earned. But after making history in Tashkent, the Kazakh champion now begins the next stage of her journey with new backing—and an Olympic dream firmly in sight.
