World Taekwondo confirmed that there will be no changes to the schedule in Tashkent, where the World Taekwondo Junior Championships, the Executive Council meeting and the General Assembly will all proceed as planned, sending a message of sporting and institutional stability after doubts raised in recent hours.
The official confirmation put an end to speculation surrounding both the event itself and WT’s governing agenda. In doing so, WT made clear that it will keep unchanged not only the junior competition, but also the key decision-making meetings scheduled in the Uzbek capital.
In its formal communication, World Taekwondo had already reaffirmed that the World Taekwondo Junior Championships would go ahead as scheduled after reviewing the current situation, athlete safety and the logistical viability of the event. That was now reinforced by confirmation that neither the Executive Council meeting nor the General Assembly will face any alteration.
The development strengthens a clear institutional message: WT has not only maintained the competition, but also the full operation of its governance structure at the same venue. Politically, the signal is decisive, as it rules out any rescheduling of the most sensitive meetings on the organization’s calendar.
The reaffirmation came after an internal review process in which the organization assessed the overall situation and the readiness of the event. In addition, the Uzbekistan Taekwondo Association reiterated its full commitment to hosting the Championships, while international air connections to Tashkent continue to operate normally.
For Member National Associations, coaches, athletes and officials, the decision restores full certainty. Tashkent remains not only the host city of the World Taekwondo Junior Championships, but also the centre of World Taekwondo’s institutional activity on the scheduled dates.
With this renewed official backing, WT moved to remove any uncertainty and project an image of continuity, control and normality on both the sporting and political fronts.
