President Rick W. Shin of the Professional Taekwondo Federation (PTF) and Kombat Taekwondo proudly announces the launch of the Professional Taekwondo Instructor License Course — the first official global certification program created exclusively for instructors of Kombat Taekwondo.
This groundbreaking course will debut in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 8-9, 2025, in cooperation with PTF and Kombat Taekwondo, the world’s largest professional Taekwondo league. The program will be led by Grand Master Dario Bonfante, 8th Dan Black Belt and Vice President of the Professional Taekwondo Federation, who has dedicated the past year to developing the curriculum alongside the Kombat Taekwondo team.

Setting a New Global Standard
The Professional Taekwondo Instructor License Course is open to all Taekwondo black belts, age 16 and above, regardless of style. Practitioners from ITF, WT, and other Taekwondo styles are invited to attend this historic event. Candidates will complete both written and practical examinations, ensuring a rigorous, merit-based certification that reflects true professional competence.
With the explosive worldwide growth of Kombat Taekwondo since its launch just 20 months ago, this course represents a historic milestone in establishing a unified and professional standard for Taekwondo instruction.
Requirement for Black Belt Certification
Looking ahead, only instructors who complete the PTF Professional Instructor License Course will be authorized to recommend students for Kombat Taekwondo Black Belt Certification. This mandate ensures that every black belt earned under PTF and Kombat Taekwondo carries unmatched credibility and global recognition.
Expanding Worldwide
Following the Buenos Aires launch, the Professional Taekwondo Federation will roll out Instructor License Courses across multiple continents, allowing Taekwondo instructors around the world to gain professional credentials under consistent, world-class standards.
Beginning in 2026, PTF will also expand its instructor certification programs to include Olympic Style Taekwondo and Traditional Style Taekwondo, reinforcing its leadership as the global governing body for both professional and amateur Taekwondo.
About the Professional Taekwondo Federation
