Muju, Korea (August 29, 2025) – The second day of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Challenge Muju 2025 delivered high-level action in the Men’s -68 kg and Women’s +67 kg divisions, showcasing both established stars and rising athletes at the Taekwondowon.

– DAY 1 –

Tubtimdang dominates Men’s -68 kg

Thailand’s Banlung Tubtimdang captured the gold medal in the -68 kg category with a commanding performance throughout the day.

In the final, he defeated Korea’s Woo-Hyeok Jung, champion of the Charlotte Grand Prix Challenge in June, with decisive scores of 13-1 and 21-7, preventing the Korean from achieving back-to-back titles.

The bronze went to Damir Shulenov (KAZ), who matched his podium finish from the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games after overcoming Spain’s Adrian Salanova Liste.

Kosmycheva takes gold in Women’s +67 kg

The +67 kg women’s division was tightly contested, with Anastasiia Kosmycheva (AIN) edging out Korea’s Da Bin Song, gold medallist at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games.

Kosmycheva won both rounds narrowly (6-5, 6-5) to secure the gold, while Song settled for silver.

In the bronze medal match, Lauren Williams (GBR), Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist, defeated Spain’s Tania Castiñeira Etcheverria with scores of 8-2 and 8-6.
