Sakis Pragalos Mobilizes the Global Taekwondo Community in Solidarity with Nepal

Sakis Pragalos, President of the European Taekwondo Union (ETU), expressed his solidarity with the people of Nepal and the Nepal Taekwondo Association following the floods and landslides that have left hundreds dead, thousands missing and tens of thousands affected.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in this tragedy,” Pragalos stated.

He called on Continental Unions, National Taekwondo Associations, athletes, coaches and practitioners to provide support through relief funds, official aid organizations or verified community initiatives.

“Every contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference in aiding recovery and rebuilding lives,” he emphasized.

The ETU President stressed that compassion, respect and mutual support are among Taekwondo’s essential values.

“To the Nepal Taekwondo Association and the people of Nepal: Stay strong. You are not alone—the global Taekwondo family stands shoulder-to-shoulder with you,” Pragalos concluded.
