The award was presented during the World Taekwondo 2025 Gala Awards, held at the Al Bahar Hotel, where Dr. Chungwon Choue presented the award, which was received by Richard Jay Warwick.
What does “MNA Ranking” mean and why does this award carry so much weight?
The MNA Ranking does not only evaluate sporting results: World Taekwondo has designed it as a tool to drive measurable improvements in governance, participation, performance, events, and sustainability, with a scoring matrix and evidence verification.
In the most recent ranking presented, USA Taekwondo topped the Top 5 ahead of Italy, France, Great Britain, and South Korea, which explained the logic behind the award: overall leadership, not just medals.
Kick of the Year: CJ Nickolas
The United States was also honored in another category, in this case as Kick of the Year Award, which was presented to CJ Nickolas, whose dynamic techniques and explosive power—as highlighted by the organization—tend to electrify the arena and captivate fans around the world.
Context: why USA Taekwondo has reached this point
