LAS VEGAS, United States — The 2026 US Open will be held from March 5 to 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, with registration starting on March 4. It will bring together Kyorugi, Poomsae, and Para Taekwondo in the same week under a competitive framework aligned with international standards. The venue will be Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino (Paradise Event Center).

The championship will be presented as a G2 event in the Senior division, a key factor for athletes and teams planning their season with a focus on rankings and already thinking about qualifying for Los Angeles 2028.

Kyorugi

In Kyorugi, the tournament will apply World Taekwondo rules for Ultra, Senior, Junior, and Cadet, while in Youth (10-11), Tiger (8-9), and Dragon (6-7), specific USA Taekwondo rules focused on safety and development will be used.

The format will be single elimination, with best-of-three rounds. The competition will use Daedo Gen3 with electronic headgear provided by the organization, and athletes must wear Daedo socks and gloves. Mats recognized by World Taekwondo will be used.

Poomsae

Poomsae will be part of the full US Open 2026 program in all its modalities and competitive divisions, with the participation, as always, of FreeStyle and all its magic.

This edition once again brings together delegations and competitive volume in the same venue, with on-site registration and centralized operations.

Para Taekwondo

In Para Kyorugi, the program will include weigh-ins and classification during the championship.

In Para Poomsae, participation will require a previously assigned Sport Class and Sport Class Status; athletes with Not Eligible (NE) or Classification Not Complete (CNC) status will not be eligible to compete. In this modality, there will be no prior classification within the event.
