WT requests historical photos for “Memories of Taekwondo” in Chuncheon 2026
World Taekwondo invited Continental Unions (CUs) and Member National Associations (MNAs) to submit one historical and iconic photograph per country to be included in the special exhibition “Memories of Taekwondo,” planned as part of the “Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships,” scheduled for September 16-20, 2026, in Chuncheon, South Korea.

An exhibition to tell the global history of Taekwondo
The message, signed by Jade Gwon, explained that the exhibition seeks to celebrate the legacy of Taekwondo through images of historical and cultural value. Each country was asked to contribute a significant photo, accompanied by a brief description in English (maximum 200 words) contextualizing its relevance.
Where the images will be displayed and preserved
According to the message, the material received will be projected as multimedia art and videos during the opening ceremony, presented in an exhibition inside and outside the competition venue, and archived for historical preservation in the museum at World Taekwondo headquarters.
