The Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) released a message for the beginning of 2026—the Year of Byeongo (丙午年) in the traditional calendar—and wished health and happiness to the Taekwondo family. The text was signed by Jin-bang Yang, president of the KTA.

In the letter, Jin-bang Yang stated that during 2026 he will do “everything possible” for the development and promotion of Taekwondo in the Republic of Korea, and asked the community to accompany this process with unity and support.

In the message, he mentioned the “Year of Byeongo (丙午年),” the name of the traditional 60-year cycle (ganji) that combines Byeong/丙 (fire) and O/午 (horse), commonly interpreted as the “Year of the Fire Horse.”

Jin-bang Yang, on behalf of the entire KTA, closed with a wish for “health and happiness” for the homes of the community and with the traditional Korean expression “새해 복 많이 받으세요,” equivalent to “may you receive many blessings in the New Year.”
