Turkey kicked off 2026 with a planning meeting

The Turkish Taekwondo Federation held its first meeting of 2026, focusing on the calendar of activities and the operational organization of the season, according to information provided by the entity itself on its official channels.

According to the statement, the meeting took place at the federation’s headquarters under the leadership of President Bahri Tanrıkulu and was attended in person and online by members who were out of town.

Among those mentioned as attendees were Vice President İbrahim Özbay, Asbaşkan Engin Sarıkaya, board members Ünal Karadağ and İlkay Sağır, and Secretary General Emrah Taşdemir.

This first meeting of the year was understood within the framework of a calendar that the Federation had already begun to publicly organize: the “2026 National Activities Program” was published on December 19, 2025, on the official website.

In the “Faaliyet Programı ve Takvimi” (program and calendar) section, the organization listed domestic competitions starting in January 2026, with multiple groups in venues such as Ankara, Istanbul, and Alanya/Antalya.

Also featured were national championships scheduled for February 2026 in Ankara, including Poomsae, Para Taekwondo/Para Poomsae, and events for adapted sports.
