Panam Sports changed the official dates for Pan American Games Lima 2027, moving the event one week later to run from July 23 to August 8, 2027.

Panam Sports announced the shift on January 30, 2026, after an operational meeting and venue review in Lima, citing a busy international sports calendar in 2027 as the key reason for the adjustment.

• Previous official window: July 16–August 1, 2027

• New official window: July 23–August 8, 2027 (Opening Ceremony July 23; Closing Ceremony August 8)

Taekwondo remains part of the sports program defined for Lima 2027, meaning national teams will now have to align peak-performance planning, travel logistics, and weight-management timelines with the new Games window.

Taekwondo dates inside Lima 2027: not published yet

As of today, Panam Sports has confirmed the overall Games dates, but it has not published a sport-by-sport competition schedule indicating the exact Taekwondo competition days. What is confirmed is that any Taekwondo schedule will sit somewhere inside July 23–August 8, 2027 under the updated event window.

Editorial note: some official pages still showed the old dates

While the new-date announcement is clear, Panam Sports’ “upcoming games” page still displayed the old window (July 16–August 1) at the time of this report—an inconsistency that reinforces why teams should anchor planning to the January 30, 2026 official update.
