FITA launches Taekwondo Plus and boosts strategy for Rome Grand Prix 2026
Rome, Italy – The Italian Taekwondo Federation (FITA) and Sportface TV launched “Taekwondo Plus,” an OTT (“Over-the-Top”) channel, streaming online, outside of traditional TV, dedicated to Italian Taekwondo, in a move that reinforces its communication and positioning plan ahead of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Rome 2026 at the Foro Italico.
Rome, Italy – The Italian Taekwondo Federation (FITA) and Sportface TV launched “Taekwondo Plus,” an OTT (“Over-the-Top”) channel, streaming online, outside of traditional TV, dedicated to Italian Taekwondo, in a move that reinforces its communication and positioning plan ahead of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Rome 2026 at the Foro Italico.
The announcement presented the platform as a space to maintain visibility and connection with the community throughout the season, in a year that FITA framed as part of its plans for Los Angeles 2028.
What is Taekwondo Plus?
According to the official announcement, Taekwondo Plus will operate as a content hub with live broadcasts, interviews, analysis, and original formats focused on athletes and key figures in the Italian movement.
The initial public offering featured editorial sections and series that aimed for narrative continuity beyond the competitive calendar.
FITA reported that the content will be available free of charge, with prior registration (email and password). Sportface TV also indicated availability through apps for iOS and Android.
Grand Prix Rome 2026: dates published by FITA
In its calendar, FITA published the “Rome 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series I” at the Foro Italico with the following schedule:
– June 4, 2026: World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix
– June 5-7, 2026: World Taekwondo Grand Prix
The combination of a premium event at home and its own digital platform led to a clear management strategy: FITA sought to turn the Grand Prix into a driver of sustained exposure, supporting athletes, clubs, and stakeholders with a constant flow of content and coverage. In an ecosystem where visibility also builds development, these types of decisions added institutional value without the need to overdo it.
