WT Releases Final Details for Standing IR Selection Camps Toward LA28

World Taekwondo officially confirmed the full framework for the 2026 WT Standing International Referee Selection & Training Camps. These camps will determine the group of 300 Standing IRs eligible for WT-promoted events and for potential selection to referee at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Referees may choose any camp, regardless of their continent, depending on availability. Registration opens on December 1 and will close automatically once each camp reaches capacity.

• Africa – Rabat, Morocco
  January 7–11 (including check-in and check-out)
  Camp size: 100–150 | Selected IRs: 60
• Europe – Benidorm, Spain
  January 12–16 (including check-in and check-out)
  Camp size: 150–200 | Selected IRs: 90
• Pan Am – Sogamoso, Colombia
  January 19–23 (including check-in and check-out)
  Camp size: 100–150 | Selected IRs: 60
• Asia & Oceania – Astana, Kazakhstan
  January 26–30 (including check-in and check-out)
  Camp size: 150–200 | Selected IRs: 90

Eligibility requires IR certification or refresher completed from April 2022 onward, annual fee paid for 2024 or later, and either participation in WT-promoted or WT-recognized events, or recommendation by the WT Referee Committee.

The participation fee is set at 100 USD. Selected Standing IRs will become eligible for appointments to WT-promoted events (G-6 and above, including Grand Prix and GP Challenge), meet referee composition requirements for recognized events, and be considered for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games selection pool.

Registration follows a strict first-come, first-served format, and ineligible registrations will be automatically cancelled.
