Fujairah, United Arab Emirates once again has become a central meeting point for Arab taekwondo. From February 7 to 9, 2026, Sheikh Zayed Sport City will host the 6th Arab Open Taekwondo Cup, a regional championship reserved exclusively for Arab countries under the age of 21, reinforcing its role as a strategic platform for talent development and competitive growth within the Arab Taekwondo Countries framework.

From February 7 to 9, 2026, Sheikh Zayed Sport City will host the 6th Arab Open Taekwondo Cup, a regional championship reserved exclusively for Arab countries under the age of 21, reinforcing its role as a strategic platform for talent development and competitive growth within the Arab Taekwondo Countries framework.
Organized together with the international taekwondo calendar in Fujairah, the event will bring together national teams from both Africa and Asia, offering a high-level competitive environment strictly limited to Arab member nations.

An Exclusive Championship for Arab Nations
The 2026 Arab Open Cup has been clearly defined as a restricted event, open only to athletes from Arab countries. Any registration submitted by non-Arab nations was automatically invalidated, ensuring the integrity and regional focus of the competition.
Eligible countries include Arab federations from Africa—such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan—as well as Arab nations from Asia, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates.
This structure reinforces the event’s mission: to strengthen Arab taekwondo through direct regional competition, sharing standards and a unifying competitive pathway.
Dates, Venue and Organization
The championship will take place from February 7 to 9, 2026, at Sheikh Zayed Sport City – Fujairah, one of the most well-known venues for international taekwondo in the Middle East.
The event is organized by Fujairah Martial Arts Club under the guidance of World Taekwondo, guaranteeing full compliance with international regulations and technical standards.
Competition days are distributed as follows:
- February 7: Seniors (Men & Women)
- February 8: Juniors
- February 9: Cadets
Competition Format and Technical Standards
The championship will follow World Taekwondo Competition Rules & Interpretation, valid as of June 2025. Matches will be conducted under a single-elimination system, applying the best-of-three rounds format.
In the Senior division, the event has G-1 World Taekwondo ranking status, offering valuable international points for Arab athletes early in the season. Seeding will be used, based on the World Ranking published in January, applying at 100% according to World Taekwondo guidelines.
KPNP PSS will be used and will be provided by the Organizing Committee. Only WT-recognized equipment will be allowed, keeping uniform safety and fairness standards.
Eligibility and Registration
Athletes are required to hold a valid 2026 WT Global Athlete License and to have the age and certification requirements specifically to each division. Participation is strictly limited to Arab countries, with eligibility verified during registration.
Registration is being conducted exclusively through the official online system, with the regular registration period running from November 3 to January 15, 2026. Fujairah Martial Arts Club is the official contact for all event-related coordination.
