NICE, FRANCE — History was made as the Kombat Taekwondo Challenge Series touched down in Europe for the very first time, transforming the legendary Théâtre de Verdure into a high-energy arena of world-class combat. With elite athletes, global officials, and an electrified international audience, the event marked a defining milestone in the global rise of Kombat Taekwondo.

A Night With an International Signature
The European debut was made possible by the efforts of Mikaël Meloul—World and European champion, and one of France’s most respected Taekwondo icons—who served as the official host of the night.

Also in attendance was President Grand Master Rick W. Shin, President of Kombat Taekwondo and the Professional Taekwondo Federation, whose presence brought global prestige and visionary leadership to the event.

- 🇻🇪 Jonny Becerra (VEN) def. 🇬🇵 Jeffrey Gombault (Guadeloupe) – Victory awarded after official review
Although the referees initially announced Jeffrey Gombault as the winner due to a scoring error, the decision was overturned after review by President Grand Master Rick W. Shin, who awarded the rightful victory to Jonny Becerra.

🏆 Fight of the Night: William Findley delivered an absolutely spectacular performance, earning him the Fight of the Night honors for KT011.
Some referees were still gaining experience with the rules and pacing of professional Kombat Taekwondo. The Kombat Taekwondo management team has acknowledged this challenge at KT011 and committed to sending more experienced referees and officiating staff to future events to ensure the highest standard of fairness and professionalism.

Looking Ahead
The resounding success of this inaugural European edition not only proved the market’s readiness—it cemented Kombat Taekwondo’s position as a true global force in professional combat sports. With Nice already being considered to host future Kombat Taekwondo World Championships, its place as a European hub for the sport is taking shape rapidly.
