The 2026 European Taekwondo G4 Championships have not only brought together some of the continent’s top athletes at BMW Park in Munich, but have also become a clear demonstration of the work being carried out by the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) to promote the growth, inclusion, and development of the sport at an international level.

During the event, Technical Delegate Usman Dildar highlighted the ETU’s commitment to providing high-level competitions for both Olympic and Paralympic athletes, while also sending a strong message about the importance of inclusion in modern Taekwondo.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the championships has been the decision to dedicate the center court to the Para Taekwondo movement, placing athletes with impairments on the main stage in front of all spectators. According to Dildar, this initiative directly represents the vision of ETU President Sakis Pragalos, who has promoted a philosophy based on equal opportunities and access to top-level facilities for all competitors.

“The message is clear: inclusion is a priority,” Dildar said during an interview with MASTKD.com.

In addition to its inclusive approach, the event has stood out for its organization, the welcoming atmosphere among athletes, coaches, and spectators, as well as the joint effort of the German Taekwondo Federation and the organizing committee to deliver a competition with international standards.

The ETU has also continued strengthening key areas such as technical education, referee development, event professionalization, and the expansion of Taekwondo among new generations of European athletes.

The return of a European Championship to Munich, coinciding with the continental organization’s 50th anniversary, also symbolizes the tremendous growth European Taekwondo has experienced over the past decades, consolidating itself as one of the strongest and most competitive regions in the world.

Through initiatives focused on inclusion, equality, and athletic development, the European Taekwondo Union continues positioning itself as an organization committed to leading Taekwondo toward a more modern, human, and competitive future.
