World Taekwondo confirmed official approved brands for Kyorugi and Poomsae competition

MASTKD had a conversation with World Taekwondo Secretary General Jeongkang Seo, who shared with us the official updated list of approved brands for WT-sanctioned events, effective as of February 3, 2026.

World Taekwondo’s official update specified which brands are recognized specifically for competition uniforms and equipment gear. This is a key point for athletes, coaches, federations, and organizers, since approval is not granted to an entire brand across all products, but rather by product category.

In conversation with MASTKD, World Taekwondo Secretary General Jeongkang Seo explained that, in WT-sanctioned, approved, or recognized events, the brands included in the organization’s official recognition framework must be used. Therefore, the correct interpretation is not to restrict usage to only a limited number of companies, but to verify whether each brand is effectively included in the corresponding category within the current official documentation.

In this update, one of the most relevant points for competitive activity concerns Kyorugi uniforms, Poomsae uniforms, and the different types of competition equipment gear. That is where athletes and coaches must pay closest attention when competing or preparing for participation in official events.
