USA Taekwondo Cemented Its Place Among World’s Elite Federations

USA Taekwondo reinforced its institutional standing on the global stage by been ranked as top two Member National Associations (MNA) in World Taekwondo’s international evaluation system, while also securing an A1 rating for the third consecutive year. The result placed the United States among the strongest national structures in the sport and confirmed that its influence extends well beyond competitive performance alone.

The recognition is very important, because it came within a system that assessed 215 national federations across a range of strategic categories tied to the modern demands of international sport governance. Rather than focusing only on medals or results on the mat, the framework measured broader institutional strength, including governance, participation, performance, events, and sustainability.

Within that global landscape, USA Taekwondo emerged as one of the sport’s two highest-rated national bodies, a position that underscored both its operational consistency and its relevance within World Taekwondo system. The top five was presented as follows:

Top 5 Member National Associations in World Taekwondo
1. Italy
2. United States of America
3. France
4. Great Britain
5. Republic of Korea

Holding that status for a third straight year projected institutional continuity and suggested that the American federation has built a model capable of sustaining credibility, structure, and international relevance over multiple cycles.

From a broader perspective, this was not simply a national pride story. It was a signal that USA Taekwondo has consolidated itself as one of the most complete and stable federations in the world. In a sport increasingly shaped by governance standards, organizational quality, transparency, and long-term sustainability, finishing in the global top two carried major institutional meaning.

For MASTKD+, the significance is clear: the United States is no longer just a major competitive nation within World Taekwondo. It is now firmly established as one of the system’s leading institutional powers. That distinction matters because global influence in Taekwondo is no longer measured only by what happens in competition. It is also measured by how a federation governs, develops, organizes, and sustains its place at the top.
