Bulgaria Open 2026 moves to the country’s “best arena”
The organizing committee of Bulgaria Open 2026 confirmed to MASTKD the change of venue: the event will be held at Arena 8888 Sofia, the largest stadium in Sofia, with modern infrastructure and superior capacity to welcome delegations, officials, and the public.

The decision was mainly due to the high number of registered athletes: a larger venue was needed to set up more competition areas/mats, ensure a more orderly operational flow, and enhance the overall experience.
In statements to MASTKD, the committee said that choosing the country’s main venue also sends a message: Taekwondo “must be in the best conditions,” in line with the ambition to establish itself as one of the leading sports. In this regard, they noted that Arena 8888 Sofia has already hosted high-profile events, including the World Taekwondo Cadet and Junior World Championships.
