Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi: “Queremos ser la capital del Taekwondo en Oriente Medio”

Fujairah, United Arab Emirates — Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, president of the United Arab Emirates Taekwondo Federation and member of the World Taekwondo Council, highlighted in an exclusive interview with MASTKD that the 13th edition of the Fujairah Open confirms the emirate’s organizational strength and reaffirms the growth of the United Arab Emirates as a relevant actor in international Taekwondo.

The leader underscored the value of sustaining the event for 13 editions and linked it to a process of institutional continuity. “Thirteen editions of tradition, more than that,” he said, highlighting a central idea about the moment the country is going through:

“I believe the UAE is stronger than ever.”

In this context, Al Zeyoudi explained that Fujairah’s consistency as a host was not accidental, but rather the result of a consolidated working structure.

“The key is the team. I have a good team.”

Speaking about the sustained development of events and the ability to organize high-impact competitions, Al Zeyoudi pointed out that the Fujairah Open should not be seen in isolation: the organization also carried out Grand Prix Series events, another Gala Dinner, and even a Cadet World Championship. This track record, he said, positioned Fujairah as a reliable platform for major events and allowed World Taekwondo and the global community to recognize it as a benchmark for top-level competitions.

“A stronger Taekwondo.”

He closed with a message of belonging that sought to summarize the spirit of the movement:

“We are one big family: The Taekwondo Family.”
