WTA: Ahn Jae-yoon appointed deputy director of training

At the same time, Kukkiwon officially announced the appointment of Ahn Jae-yoon as deputy director of training at the World Taekwondo Academy (WTA), the central structure for training, education, and standardization policy linked to the Kukkiwon system.

The appointment was decided at the 2025 annual board meeting, held on December 23 at Kukkiwon headquarters, with 16 of the 19 directors present, and included a one-year term for the position.

The statement also detailed that Kukkiwon opened a public call for this position (from November 26 for 14 days) and that the institution changed the title of the position to “deputy director” to avoid confusion with the position of Kukkiwon president, following a statutory reform carried out in March.

With the Demo Team (institutional representation and global outreach) and the WTA (training and technical guidelines) in motion, Kukkiwon sought to organize strategic pieces that impact the international positioning of Taekwondo: from sports diplomacy and exhibitions to educational standards and training programs associated with its global authority.
