According to a conversation between MASTKD and Maher Magableh (president of the Oceania Taekwondo Union), he reported that he will travel to Jordan to prepare for the 2026 edition in Amman, and then move on to Rwanda for the same project. At the time of writing, no public announcement has been found confirming the exact dates mentioned in that exchange (Amman April 19–23, 2026 / Rwanda February 4–6, 2026).

What is “Hope and Dreams” and why does it matter?

WT and THF consolidated Hope and Dreams as a platform that went beyond the exclusive Taekwondo format and evolved into a multi-sport festival with a direct impact on refugee communities, with Jordan as the epicenter of the model.

In the most publicly documented edition (2025), the festival took place in refugee camps and venues in Amman, with sports such as Taekwondo, Baseball5, and 3×3, among others.

Rwanda, the next step in the program

At the same time, THF recorded sustained activity in Rwanda (including initiatives related to Para Taekwondo and community development), and WT reported that the THF Board approved extending the Hope and Dreams competition model to Rwanda.

In addition, there is public record of institutional visits to Rwanda with the participation of Chungwon Choue and Maher Magableh, as part of Taekwondo’s humanitarian work.
