ETU Opens Applications for 2026–2027 Committees – Deadline Set for January 16

European Taekwondo Union (ETU) opened a call for applications to its Committees for the 2026–2027 term, inviting candidates to support governance, development, and promotion of Taekwondo across Europe.

According to ETU, the invitation looks for individual applicants, including people outside the taekwondo community, following ETU and WT pathway focused on excellence, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and athlete-centred values.

ETU follows a World Taekwondo committee model

ETU’s committee selection framework closely echoes the approach currently used by World Taekwondo, which is also running an open, time-bound online application process for its 2025–2027 Permanent Committees and highlights the same governance keywords—integrity, diversity, and athlete-centred values.

Selection and term

Applications will be reviewed by the ETU Ad-Hoc Nominations Committee, which will evaluate candidates based on ETU strategic priorities, expertise, ethical standing, geographical and gender balance, and athlete representation. Applicants must also declare any potential conflicts of interest.

ETU stated appointments will run until the conclusion of the 2027 ETU General Assembly.

ETU listed a wide range of areas, including: Member Relations and Development, Technical matters, Athletes, Coaches, Education and Applied Science, Safeguarding and Integrity, Finance, Games, Medical, Para Taekwondo, Poomsae, Referees, Juridical affairs, TV and Media, Institutional Relations, and Culture and Heritage.

How to apply and deadline

ETU said the process is fully online, that allows candidates to submit an application with a CV and supporting information.
