Malaysia Strengthens Its Path in Kombat Taekwondo with National Coaching & Referee Course
KUALA LUMPUR – Kombat Taekwondo Malaysia completed a key step in its technical development by hosting the KT Coaching & Referee Course – Malaysia 2025, held December 6–7 at the ATC Training Center. More than 55 coaches and referees from across the country participated in the two-day program, aimed at standardizing national criteria and aligning local officials with the global direction of Kombat Taekwondo.
KUALA LUMPUR – Kombat Taekwondo Malaysia completed a key step in its technical development by hosting the KT Coaching & Referee Course – Malaysia 2025, held December 6–7 at the ATC Training Center. More than 55 coaches and referees from across the country participated in the two-day program, aimed at standardizing national criteria and aligning local officials with the global direction of Kombat Taekwondo.
The initiative was sanctioned by the Professional Taekwondo Federation (Malaysia) and formed part of the broader effort to professionalize officiating and coaching structures across Southeast Asia.

Regional Expertise Supporting National Growth
The course was led by Master Elton John of KT Philippines, whose extensive international background offered participants a clear framework for applying updated regulations and competitive strategies. Supporting instruction was provided by Master Dawn Noriel Zada, who guided the practical sessions and contributed to the integration of global guidelines into the Malaysian context.

Delegates traveled from multiple states, reflecting the growing traction of Kombat Taekwondo throughout the country. The program also emphasized Malaysia’s strategic goal of strengthening its technical base in advance of the 2026 competitive calendar.
“We were proud to welcome so many coaches and referees,” said Datuk Hj Mislan. “Hosting international instructors such as Master Elton John and Master Dawn Noriel Zada has been a meaningful step. The knowledge shared this weekend supports the long-term development of Kombat Taekwondo in Malaysia.”
