PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The Haitian Taekwondo Federation (FHTKD), led by its president Frenel Ostin, announced that the 2025 National Taekwondo Championships will take place in Les Cayes from November 25 to 30, 2025. The event will serve as a key platform for strengthening the national team as Haiti prepares for the 2026 competitive season and upcoming international events.

The announcement follows Haiti’s recent participation in the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, where the country was represented by three athletes:

  • Grégory Jean-Baptiste (−58 kg)
  • Sean Jaylen (−74 kg)
  • Ava Soon Lee (−73 kg, women)

The National Championships will gather athletes from various clubs across the country to compete in both Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (forms). Performance at this event will help identify emerging talents and support the technical development of Haiti’s elite and youth categories.

The FHTKD continues to promote Taekwondo as one of the nation’s developing Olympic sports, aiming to expand participation, improve technical standards, and enhance Haiti’s presence in regional and global competitions.
