The Casino Buenos Aires in Puerto Madero played host to the third event of the rapidly growing Kombat Taekwondo franchise, the Grand Prix Kombat Taekwondo 003. Led by Kombat Taekwondo Argentina’s national team, under the leadership of Claudio Aranda, Dario Bonfante, and Gabriel Taraburelli, the event drew a crowd of 400 spectators. Broadcasted live for an impressive 4 hours and 25 minutes on ESPN and Disney+, the event captivated a global audience and marked a significant milestone for Professional Taekwondo.

The night kicked off with an unforgettable start as a light rain swept the venue moments before the first bout, adding an epic touch to the semi-covered arena. The event featured a lineup of 12 fights — seven preliminaries and five main card bouts — all held in a single, high-intensity five-minute round format. This setup encouraged fighters to give it their all from start to finish, creating a non-stop action spectacle. With top-tier production quality, the event aired in Disney+ prime time, giving viewers a front-row seat to the night’s excitement.

Viewed by millions via ESPN and streaming platforms like Disney+, the event showcased Kombat Taekwondo’s capacity to deliver a world-class martial arts experience on par with the biggest leagues in professional sports. According to Kombat Taekwondo founder Master Rick Shin, the event “showcased the unity and inclusiveness of Kombat Taekwondo, with each competitor bringing their passion, strength, and dedication to the ring.”

The franchise’s rapid rise shows no signs of slowing down. The next Grand Prix Kombat Taekwondo, planned for April 2025 in the Philippines, is already generating buzz. The tremendous success of Buenos Aires’ event sets a high bar for future tournaments and strengthens Kombat Taekwondo’s mission to honor the hard work of its fighters as the true stars of the show.

Kombat Taekwondo Argentina, with a team of dedicated professionals including Marina Miranda (Head of Institutional Relations) and Fabio Dibiase (Head of Operations), demonstrated their commitment to executing an event that has left a lasting impact on the global taekwondo community.
